Class Descriptions

Gentle Yoga
Gentle Yoga with Kathy is a slow and mindful practice wherein you will be challenged to remain present and embodied.  Expect to mindfully strengthen and lengthen.  This class is good for beginners as well as for those who are more well practiced.

Yoga with Lou
This kundalini fusion class will speak directly to your nervous system, balancing you from the inside out.   Expect breathwork, chanting, movement and deep relaxation.
Hot Hatha 26-2
The classic 26-posture hot yoga series in a heated room. This systematic sequence builds flexibility, strength, and balance while promoting stress relief and detoxification. All levels welcome - experience the therapeutic benefits of this time-tested practice!
Intro to Ashtanga
Ashtanga Yoga is an athletic practice that combines specific asanas timed to counted breath and follows the same sequence in each class, with the goal of eventually internalizing the sequence and practicing to the pace of one's own breath. The sequence starts with sun salutations, followed by a standing sequence, seated sequence, backbends, and closing. We will work through sun salutations and the standing sequence in each class, and workshop individual asanas from the seated, backbend, and closing portions depending on our energy levels and what works for the group. **This class does not include any hands-on adjustments**

Mindful Movement & Ease
Care for your mind, body, and spirit! This gentle class invites you to move mindfully, breath purposefully, and relax fully.

Yoga for People with Chronic Pain
This class is designed for those who experience chronic pain.  It is primarily chair based and reclined (floor, bed, a recliner). Props to consider having to help yourself be both more stable and comfortable:
  • chair
  • 1-2 folded towels or firm blankets to adjust height of seat
  • yoga blocks (multiple uses) or a low stool or box to rest your foot on
  • pillows - different sizes (behind knees, to support your head, your wrists)

Note, if you were not able to attend the chronic pain workshop in June, please take time to view the video as such will provide you with information around the practice of yoga and chronic pain.
