Introduction to Ashtanga with Blakely (Tuesday & Thursday @ 6am) Ashtanga Yoga is an athletic practice that combines specific asanas timed to counted breath and follows the same sequence in each class, with the goal of eventually internalizing the sequence and practicing to the pace of one's own breath. The sequence starts with sun salutations, followed by a standing sequence, seated sequence, backbends, and closing. We will work through sun salutations and the standing sequence in each class, and workshop individual asanas from the seated, backbend, and closing portions depending on our energy levels and what works for the group. If you would like to come practice in the Mysore style (having internalized the sequence, you practice at your own pace independently, surrounded by the energy and inspiration of other students in the same room, you are more than welcome! **This class does not include any hands-on adjustments**
