Born and raised in rural Montana, Cathy’s early outdoor experiences began a life-long interest in history, natural ecological systems, hydrology, fish, wildlife and the socioeconomic relationship between people living on the landscapes and the natural systems around them. She has extensive back country experience and has taught classes in Back Country Survival, Back Country First Aid and Leave No Trace. With a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies she worked for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks as a Regional Operations Supervisor for the Parks Division, Fishing Access Site Coordinator for the Fisheries Division and ended her career as the Regional Education and Information Program Manager. Cathy is the founder and co-owner of Pivotal Movements Equine Program which focuses on equine assisted psychotherapy and equine assisted learning and has partnered with Vibrant Lives. With over 30 years of horse experience, she is an EAGALA certified Equine Specialist and a certified Horse Powered Reading Instructor. She has recently completed her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and is currently licensed as a PCLC. She has developed experiential programs to work with at-risk youth, domestic violence subjects, anxiety disorders, parenting, and eating disorders. Her goal is to experientially work with adolescent and adult individuals and groups seeking methods to live a more authentic life by exploring challenges and seeking new skills and knowledge. She is available for in-office appointments. If that is not your style, experiential work with horses is also available.
